Home Updates: Living Room

Interiors

March 20, 2022

We have some new progress to report on the home front and I’m thrilled to share!

After being extremely patient for the past few months, we filled in the furniture gaps of our living room. For this room, I wanted things to feel really tonal, soothing, and elegant. I fell in love with this rug a couple years ago and have been set on having it in this room since we bought the house. I love the vintage feeling and the overall tones. The pattern adds a lot to the space as well. The lounge chairs are a faux shearling and they’re so cozy! The girls have found their new favourite perch as well. And the coffee table is a concrete finish — I love the pedestal style. I’m obsessed with this room now and have been just sitting in here with my tea, enjoying the view.

This room has seen a decent amount of change since we moved in. See the before below 🙂 When we toured the house I just knew there were elements that—once certain changes were made—would really suit our vision for a home of our own. Painting made a huge difference and made the floors feel different, too! And the trims, doors, and casings were all really pretty already. We also partially closed in the walk-through pantry and just left an arch opening. I love that added shape in the living room and it also makes the living room and kitchen feel more like separate spaces with that pantry tucked behind the new wall.

And that’s it! I can’t wait to share more as this project gets further.
